Lead numerous successful materials related R&D teams and projects. Extensive hands on 
experience in developing functional materials for various commercial and governmental 
applications. 

1990 – 2001 Manager R&D and Director R&D for Square D Transformer Business with 
headquarters in Monroe, NC. Responsible for several plants. Participated in numerous 
international transformer conferences. Was responsible for several revolutionary 
developments in cast epoxy resin transformers.

1997 – 1990 Manager Materials and Processes Unit, General Electric Lighting Systems 
Department in Hendersonville, NC. Responsible for materials R&D in $150 million / year 
highly vertically integrated HID lighting business.


1972-1977 Manager, Advanced Materials Development Laboratory, Construction Products 
Division, W. R. Grace & Co. Responsible for formulations and applications developments 
in light weight concrete roof decks, sprayed on fireproofing, and artificial soil mixes 
for horticultural applications.

1966 – 1972 Senior Chemist, W. R. Grace & Co., Research Division, Columbia, MD.
Conducted research in various inorganic materials including technical ceramics, adsorbents, 
and prototype nuclear fuels.
